Battlefield 1 played on Ultrawide

21:9 just got better
Battlefield 1 invites are no longer needed, as the World War 1 shooter is in open beta on PS4, Xbox One and PC right now. You’ll need to download the Origin client if your playing on PC and 6 gigabytes free on your hard drive. Console players can download the beta from retrospective stores.

If you’ve just ascended to a Ultrawide monitor you’ll be glad to know that Battlefield 1 flawlessly supports the 21:9 aspect ratio. The Frostbite game engine is a technical marvel by DICE and provides a flurry of tweaks in the settings, to support graphics cards old and new.

On high settings combined with FXAA for anti aliasing and 30% resolution scale, we were able to get 60 frames per second on average with a Sapphire R9 280 at 3440×1440. That’s an amazing result considering the GPU was released 2 years ago with 3 GB of VRAM and more importantly costs 100 EUR/GPB/USD.

Battlefield 1 has been confirmed to release on 21st October 2016 for PS4, Xbox One and PC. For further coverage of the beta and performance at different resolutions, subscribe to our YouTube channel right here.
