Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Preview

Big Boss returns in another blockbuster by Hideo Kojima, for a prequel taking place after the events of Ground Zeroes. Our punished hero was left in a vulnerable state and awakes from a coma in The Phantom Pain.

Skull face is the antagonist with a troubled past as a result of war, snatched of his childhood and innocence. We don’t know much about his true identity or why Snake sees him as an ally. I’m sure Kojima will unravel this mystery before our eyes how he knows best.

This is the first open world entry in the franchise expanding the horizons of battle, across the continent. Missions can be tackled in any order this time, including side missions which unlock extra resources.

Your not alone on the battlefield and can recruit a buddy to tag along your missions such as Diamond Dog, Quiet or a mini-Metal Gear. Each have a unique ability tailored to your play style whether your into sniping, stealth or tactical combat theres something for everyone.

Online mode is another game in itself featuring large maps, eight players to a team and all the gadgets from the single player portion of the game.

Another online mode is Mother Base which allows you to build your own fortress. During story mode there will be plenty of oportunites to air balloon soldiers, cars, goats and much more back to your base. Other players can infiltrate your Mother Base and steal your resources so spend wisely on security upgrades.

Did I mention Kiefer Sutherland is voicing Big Boss? A very bold move indeed by Hideo Kojima but one that will portray his true vision of an older Snake. His performance will not only be vocal it will involve motion capture too.

Be the legend come 1st September 2015 when Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain is out for PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
